Svlg Our Work Tech

Our Core Focus

Supporting, defending, and advocating government policies for transformative technologies — with a core focus on scaling new frontier technologies and high-growth startups — and issues such as artificial intelligence, digital assets, autonomous technology, antitrust, and semiconductor supply chain resilience, among others.

Our Objective

The Technology & Innovation COE works to maintain California’s position as the premier region to develop, test and deploy innovative technologies.

Working Groups

The Technology & Innovation COE holds quarterly meetings where member companies learn about and discuss our advocacy work across each of our specific work groups, and task forces. External experts are often invited to present insights regarding industry advancements and select business trends.

Longer-term issues or topics that are not time-bound and are suited for education, awareness and capacity building.

In partnership with SVLG’s Institute for California AI Policy (ICAP), convenes member companies to develop resources to educate and inform industry, the public and policymakers about AI’s role and how it can improve lives, address social challenges, advance science, and build a stronger innovation economy.

Supports the development, testing, and deployment of autonomous vehicles in California by engaging at the state and local levels, as well as on issues ranging from permitting to transportation equity.

SVLG convenes member companies to discuss and execute advocacy regarding federal and state antitrust matters. The group is currently focused on the Federal Trade Commission’s departure from its historical focus on consumer protection.
